Zilliqa is a blockchain-based payment processing and decentralized application (dapp) platform that was introduced to eliminate the major issue of scalability. Zilliqa is a permissionless and public blockchain that offers high productivity with the capacity to execute thousands of transactions per second through a sharding mechanism. Sharding enables the platform to achieve faster rates of transactions per second while maintaining a high throughput. Zilliqa enables users to build decentralized applications and send secure and fast payments. Scilla is the new smart contract language for Zilliqa. ZIL is the native utility token of Zilliqa. ZIL is utilized to process transactions on the network. The Zilliqa project was founded in 2017 by a group of researchers from the National University of Singapore. Initial team members included Xinshuu Dong, Yaoqi Jia, Amrit Kumar, and Prateek Saxena.

Dr. Ben Livshits - He is the Chief Executive Officer of Zilliqa. He holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from Stanford. He is an Ex-Microsoft Researcher and Ex-Brave Chief Scientist.
Dr. Amrit Kumar - He is the Co-Founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer of Zilliqa. He holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from Inria. He is a Former Researcher at the National University of Singapore.
Sandra Helou - She is the Head of Metaverse & NFTs at Zilliqa. Her Global Experience across Australia, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East enables her to deliver on both Strategy Level and on Execution Level.
Matt Dyer - He is the Head of Growth at Zilliqa. He has a Senior Executive Experience of more than 20 years in Strategic Management and Enterprise Sales.
Aparna Narayanan - She is the Head of Communication at Zilliqa. She is a Communication Professional with 7+ years of Global Experience in PR Strategy and Brand Building.
Dr. IIya Sergey - He is the Lead Language Designer at Zilliqa. He holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from KU Leuven. He is an Assistant Professor at National University of Singapore and Yale-NUS College. He is an Ex-UCL and Ex-JetBrains. He has received the Dahl-Nygaard Junior Prize and Google Faculty Research Award.
