VeChain is a blockchain platform which was founded in 2015 by its co-founders Sunny Lu and Jay Zhang. Initially, the VeChain platform was called VEN blockchain and its VEN token functioned on the Ethereum blockchain. In 2018, VeChain transitioned onto its own blockchain and rebranded itself as the VeChainThor (VET) blockchain. The VeChainThor (VET) blockchain consists of two distinct tokens, VeChain Token (VET) and VeChainThor Energy (VTHO). VET token is used to carry out transactions on decentralized applications occurring on VeChain’s blockchain; Whereas VTHO token is considered as the cost of conducting transactions on its blockchain and used to power transactions on VeChain. The VeChain Technology consists of the following 11 key team members:

Sunny Lu - He is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of VeChain. Prior to this, he served as the IT Executive in Fortune 500 companies for nearly 20 years, former CIO of Louis Vuitton China.

Jay Zhang - He is the Co-founder of VeChain and serves as the Vice President of Finance at VeChain where he is in charge of VeChain’s global corporate structure, governance and financial management.

Jianliang Gu - He serves as the Vice President of Technology at VeChain where he is in charge of the technology development, focusing on the development of enterprise blockchain solutions with the combination of blockchain and IoT technologies.

Dr. Peter Zhou - He is the Vice President of R & D at VeChain. He leads the research and development of blockchain technology and the collaboration with universities worldwide; and he is also in charge of intellectual property protection.

Bin Qian - He serves as the Chief Blockchain Architect of VeChain where he leads his team in the architecture design, development and iteration of VeChain blockchain infrastructure, and his team also builds user-friendly tools for developers.

YanyuChen - She serves as the Vice President of Operations at VeChain. She has nearly 20 years of management experience in cutting-edge technology industries.

Scott Brisbin - He serves as the General Counsel of VeChain from 2016, where he is responsible for corporate legal matters, organization structure and intellectual property protection.

Jerome Grilleres - He serves as the General Manager of VeChain Europe where he is responsible for VeChain’s business development for the whole Europe market.

Jason Rockwood - He serves as the Country Manager of VeChain US where he is in charge of the business development for the North America market.

Arnaud Bauer - He serves as the Ecosystem Manager of VeChain Europe. He works with VeChain's business partners to facilitate the adoption of blockchain solutions co-developed by VeChain and its partners.

Dimitrios Neocleous - He serves as the Ecosystem Manager of VeChain Europe where he facilitates the adoption of VeChain enterprise solutions in Europe and supplements his legal expertise in VeChain’s collaboration with national governments in Europe.
