The Internet Computer is a decentralized blockchain network of the DFINITY Foundation. The Internet Computer was founded by Dominic Williams in October 2016. Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) is the native utility token, formerly known as “DFN” and it powers the DFINITY Internet Computer network. The DFINITY Foundation is a non-profit scientific research organization based in Zurich, Switzerland, which consists of the world’s top cryptographers, programming language experts and distributed systems experts. The following are some of the notable experts in the key leadership positions of the DFINITY Foundation:
Dominic Williams - He is the Founder and Chief Scientist at DFINITY. He is a crypto theoretician and entrepreneur. Previously, he ran a venture-backed MMO game using his own distributed systems that hosted millions of users. He also founded several startups such as System7, Airdocs and Smartdrivez.
Gian Bochsler - He currently serves as the DFINITY Foundation Council Member and helps oversee Swiss Operations. He is an experienced entrepreneur, fund manager and board member. He is the co-founder of Bity, a leading European digital asset exchange, among many other ventures.
Josh Drake - He serves as the Chief Operating Officer of DFINITY. Prior to this, he worked at Coinbase; Veritas Technologies, Maxim Integrated; Triple Canopy; Law Enforcement; and the US Marine Corps. He has a diverse background and experience in Real Estate, Workplace Operations, Security, Backgrounds, and Travels.
Jan Camenisch - He is the Chief Technology Officer of DFINITY. Previously, he worked at IBM as Principal Research Staff, where he co-invented Identity Mixer, a unique cryptographic protocol for authentication. He is a Fellow of IEEE and IACR and has received many awards for his work.
Eva Oberholzer - She is the Chief Growth Officer at DFINITY. She is a growth expert, marketer and entrepreneur with a track record in go-to-market and scaling strategies. She has held leadership positions at large global companies such as Statestreet, SIX Stock Exchange, and PwC.
