Elrond is a highly scalable, fast, and secure blockchain platform co-founded by Beniamin Mincu, Lucian Mincu and Lucian Todea in 2017.

EGLD or eGold is the native token of the Elrond blockchain platform and this token is used for paying network fees, staking and rewarding validators. Elrond’s tokens were first issued under the name ERD and after the launch of Elrond’s mainnet; the token’s name was changed from ERD tokens to EGLD tokens.

Elrond Network is the company that built the Elrond (EGLD) protocol. Elrond Network is responsible for the management of protocol improvements and upgrades.

Beniamin Mincu - Co-Founder & CEO

He is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Elrond Network. Prior to this, he co-founded and served as the CEO of Metachain Capital, a digital assets investment fund. He also worked at NEM.io Foundation as Business Lead, Marketing Lead and Community Lead.

Lucian Todea - Co-Founder & COO

He is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Elrond Network. Currently, he is also the founder and CEO of Soft32 and ITNT. He also founded and served as the CEO of Travelgator and Mobaba. He is an Investor in TypingDNA and Smart Bill; and a Partner of mobilPay.com.

Lucian Mincu - Co-Founder & CIO

He is the Co-Founder and Chief Information Officer of Elrond Network. Prior to this, he co-founded and served as the CTO of ICO Market Data and Metachain Capital; he also worked at LIEBL Systems GmbH as Senior IT Security Consultant and Project Management; he worked at Cetto Services GmbH as IT System Engineer; he served as the CTO of Uhrenwerk24 UG; and worked as an IT Consultant at Computer Troubleshooters.
