Decentraland is an Ethereum based 3D virtual reality Metaverse platform. The idea of Decentraland is to implement blockchain in the gaming world.

Decentraland uses two tokens, LAND and MANA. LAND are Non-Fungible ERC-721 tokens that provide ownership rights to the digital real estate called Land Parcels and MANA are ERC-20 cryptocurrency tokens built on the Ethereum blockchain protocol that is used to buy and sell virtual land on the Decentraland platform. MANA cryptocurrency facilitates the sale of LAND for its users.

The Decentraland Foundation is the organization that is in charge of all the changes and developments made in the Decentraland (MANA) protocol. The Decentraland Foundation was established by Ari Meilich and Esteban Ordano in 2015, who are also the founders of Decentraland (MANA).

Ari Meilich - Currently, he is the Founder of Big Time studios and Advisor of Decentraland. Previously, he was the Project Lead at Decentraland; Co-Founder of Benchrise Inc; Market Research Analyst at CRV; Neuroeconomics Research at the Glimcher Lab, New York University; Neuroscience Research at the Phelps Lab,  New York University; Neuroscience Research at the Badre Lab, Brown University; and Research Assistant at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Esteban Ordano - Currently, he is the Advisor of Decentraland. Previously, he was the Tech Lead at Decentraland; Advisor at Matic Network; Founder of Smart Contract Solutions; Software Engineer at BitPay Inc; Teaching Assistant at ITBA; Software Engineering Intern and Site Reliability Engineering Intern at Google; Project Manager and Technical Leader at Monits; Head of Information Technology at South American Business Forum; and Intern at Infosys.

Both developers have transitioned their Decentraland control to its community and now they stay as advisors of Decentraland.
