Celo is a mobile-first platform that makes it easier to access financial dApps and crypto payments. The ecosystem comprises a decentralized PoS blockchain technology stack, a native asset, a stablecoin, and the Celo’s Alliance for Prosperity. Celo works well with native mobile dApps, and it is also interoperable with MetaMask and other well-known Ethereum developer tools. The Celo wallet is a free and open-source wallet for the network. The Celo Terminal, available for download on Mac, Windows, and Linux, helps manage everything related to Celo.
CELO is the native token of the Celo platform and the CELO cryptocurrency plays a key role in maintaining and operating the Celo platform. CELO is a proof-of-stake (PoS) token used for transaction fees, governance participation and related activities. CELO is a freely tradable cryptocurrency on the ERC-20 token standard. Apart from its native token, Celo also has two stablecoins Celo Dollars (cUSD) and Celo Euro (cEUR). Both of these stablecoins algorithmically follow the US Dollar and Euro.

Marek Olszewski - He is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of cLabs. He is also the President of Valora. Prior to this, he served as the Vice President of Engineering at GoDaddy; Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Locu, Inc, which is a Machine Learning venture-backed company that was acquired by GoDaddy. He is also an MIT PhD Alumni and a Former Facebook Fellow and has previously worked at Google, Microsoft Research and Sun Labs.
Rene Reinsberg - He is the Co-Founder of Celo and currently the President of the Celo Foundation. Previously, he co-founded Locu, acquired by GoDaddy. He started his career in Global Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley and also worked at McKinsey, the World Bank, TechnoServe and General Catalyst. He holds Graduate Degrees from Germany’s WHU and MIT.
Sep Kamvar - He is the Co-Founder of Celo and Partner at cLabs. He is a Computer Scientist, Artist, Author and Entrepreneur. He was previously the LG Career Development Professor of Media Arts and Sciences at MIT, and the Director of the Social Computing Group at the MIT Media Lab.
