ApeCoin (APE) is an ERC-20 governance and utility token launched on the Ethereum mainnet. APE is the symbol for ApeCoin token and it is the native token of the famous NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).

Yuga Labs is a Web3 company and best known for the creation of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). Yuga Labs and BAYC were co-founded by four pseudonymous founders, the ones who put Ape in ApeCoin.

ApeCoin (APE) is used within the APE Ecosystem and controlled by the APE community. ApeCoin (APE) is supported by the APE Foundation and it is secured by the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism of Ethereum.

The ApeCoin DAO is a decentralized organization that builds and maintains the APE Ecosystem and provides infrastructure for ApeCoin holders to collaborate through open and permissionless governance processes.

The DAO’s “Board” is a special administrative council of the APE Foundation and it carries out the decisions of ApeCoin DAO members. The APE Foundation is a legal entity that administers the decisions of the ApeCoin DAO.
